He has received several international prizes for his films, which were screened at international festivals like Karlovy Vary, NYFF, Visions du Réel, Carthage. His film Amal was IDFA’s opening film in 2017, winning Sheffield Jury Prize among a dozen awards, and screening in Göteborg, CPH Dox and Hot Docs. He served as a jury member in Karlovy Vary, Göteborg and Durban Film Festivals. He was also chosen as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, organizer of the Oscars. Currently, he is a lecturer resident at the American University in Paris. Siam is currently working on his feature narrative Carnival.
